Our Stairlift Installation Process

7 Steps to Your Perfect Stairlift

Finding the best stairlift for you or your loved one!

At Norfolk Stairlifts we pride ourselves on finding the most suitable stairlift for your home and most importantly to suit you or your friend or relative.

We differ considerably from all our competitors because we stock such a wide variety of different stairlift manufacturer makes and models. This allows us to find the most suitable stairlift for you and within your budget, without being biased towards any specific brand or model.

Our 7 step process is at the heart of our company and is the cornerstone of finding you the best stairlift solution. Our assessment is based on the type of staircase, your individual needs, the available access at the top and bottom of the staircase and any obstructions that need to be taken into consideration.

Step 1:  Assessing Your Staircase

The most basic observation is whether you have a straight or curved staircase, in the first instance. This will, of course, define the type of stairlift that is required for you needs, and narrows the selection down for the recommendation stage. Even if a staircase has a couple of steps at an angle then a curved stairlift may be needed.

As part of our free survey we look at your staircase and assess what your requirements are.

Step 2: Your Requirements

Personal requirements can also affect the type of stairlift that is right for you.  If you, or your loved one, has specific personal mobility issues and/or disabilities; then we guide you through the stairlift makes and models that are most appropriate for your needs. We look at everything in detail, from requirements of structuring, right down to the choice of colour and fabric of your stairlift.

Step 3: Household Restrictions

It’s important to understand how your home is currently used, not only by the stairlift user but also by all other members of the family. A stairlift can make a tremendous difference to your life, but equally we need to ensure that it works in your home circumstances.

Step 4: Stairlift Recommendation

Once we’re assessed all of the above, we then look to recommend between 1 and 3 stairlifts, depending on suitability. We will talk you through each model and work with you to find the one solution to suit all of your personal circumstances and requirements.

Step 5: Delivery & Installation

The complete installation depends on the type of stairlift that you choose. As a general rule – once you’ve decided which stairlift you’d like to use - we aim to fit straight stairlifts within, between 3 and 10 days, and a curved stairlift within 28 days; following the order date.  We always communicate with you up until the day of installation, keeping you continually informed on progress, where one of our highly skilled - and friendly - engineers will install your new stairlift. A straight stairlift takes on average 4 hours to install and a curved stairlift installation can take up to 8 hours.

Step 6: Your Stairlift Guarantee & Service Package

We pride ourselves on offering you a stairlift guarantee that you can trust and believe in.  Our new stairlifts come with a 2 year guarantee as standard. We even replace the batteries on your remote control for free.

Step 7: Your Choice

No matter what stairlift you choose, and whether you decide to use Norfolk Stairlifts, the choice is entirely yours and we’ll always wish you the best in obtaining the best solution for your specific needs. We will never pressure a customer into making a decision, or into choosing our service.
